I have compiled a series of syllabi coming from different artists and photographers who teach histories of photography in the United States, Mexico and other Latin American countries. My interest in putting these syllabi together stems from my desire to understand different approaches to the history of photo, to distinguish the canons that characterize the medium, and to underline the discontinuities that are specific to the contexts in which these courses are taught. Analyzing the images that are taught in each region allows us to perceive the construction of ideologies and imaginaries.

This installation, at Museo de Antioquia in Medellín, compiles the images used in different courses of photo history in three different schools and universities (private and public) by three professors in this city. This installation also includes the images that I use in my own syllabus, presented as the only pictures not mounted.
